The time has come to pass on the legacy that is Centennial Ranch. Encompassing 392+ acres, 97 of which are irrigated via two ditches, the ranch sits along one-half mile of private frontage on the pristine Uncompahgre River. The crown jewel of the ranch is Dashwood House, a warm, welcoming, and informal, yet elegant timber-frame masterpiece. Featured in Architectural Digest, its 6,497 square feet include the great room with its towering timber ceilings, formal dining room, exquisite kitchen, three-bedroom suites, an office, and much more. A separate caretaker's apartment over the garage is an added bonus. Accenting the timber frame is the stunning iron work each piece of which was custom designed, and hand forged for its place and function by blacksmiths across the nation. A working cattle ranch, Centennial also includes an iconic timber frame barn using posts and beams salvaged from the Royal Typewriter Company’s plant built in 1907. Custom ironwork again accents the stall, feed, and tack room doors as well as equipment hooks. The Line Cabin harkens back to the days on the huge cattle ranches when the cowboys had to ride for days to check fences. Those cabins offered welcomed overnight shelter and basic foodstuffs. Holding true to its roots, the line cabin at Centennial has no electricity or running water. Nestled along the banks of the river, it is a cherished gathering spot for family and friends alike. For the outdoorsman, there is incredible fishing right out the back door. Rainbows, Cutthroats, and Germans thrive in the habitat that parallels the ranch. Deer, Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Fox, Owls, Herron, and many other birds and animals call Centennial home. This incredible habitat and way of life have been protected by a very generous Conservation Easement. More than anything, Centennial is a return to a simpler life that is fast disappearing.
